What is Invisalign?
Invisalign treatment is a type of cosmetic orthodontic treatment that has become massively popular over the past decade, as it allows the patients to realign their smiles - without affecting their appearance in the slightest.
Normally, orthodontic alignment is achieved by bonding brackets and wires on to a patient's teeth (either to the front or back). Invisalign, however, adopts an entirely different approach whereby nothing needs to be bonded anywhere within the patient's mouth.
Instead, the whole process of realigning crooked teeth through Invisalign solely involves a removable, transparent dental retainer. Within this retainer, which is custom made to fit perfectly around the teeth of the patient wearing it, there are pressure points that apply force gradually to the teeth that have been identified as benign crooked.
As nothing is ever attached to the patient’s teeth during the Invisalign process, patient's can remove their retainer whenever they wish. Not only that, but it’s also generally found to be a far more comfortable and relaxed way of achieving a straighter smile discreetly.
