Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists

We utilise the skills of two part-time Dental Hygienists, and an Oral Health Educator who are trained in all aspects of Preventative Dental Health Care, including treatment of periodontal (gum) disease and fluoride and sensitivity treatments.

We also have a part-time Dental Therapist who in addition to Preventative Dental Care, can provide dental treatments on both adults and children such as permanent and temporary fillings and removal of deciduous teeth as well as take impressions and dental radiographs.

All clinical staff, although closely involved in planning patient care, works under the prescription of the dentist and cannot provide an initial diagnosis.

Our Hygienists, Mary (GDC Number: 6684) and Helen (GDC Number: 3762) both qualified from Liverpool Dental School of Hygiene, as did our therapist, April (GDC Number: 140282) , who qualified in 2011.

Dental Nurses

Our Dental Nurses are Jeni (GDC Number: 170284) , Nicky (GDC Number:138176) and Alix (Trainee). Jeni and Nicky qualified to take Dental Radiographs according to a dentists’ prescription.

Jeni is also our Oral Health Educator. As such she works with the children of our practice to ensure good tooth brushing and dental health. She complements the periodontal therapy received from our hygienists for adult patients, and is able to take impressions and diagnostic records for procedures such as tooth whitening and Invisalign orthodontic treatments.

Reception Team

Sharon and Carol run our front of practice reception. They are not clinically qualified to diagnose or advise patients without a clinicians input, however they are able to help with all non-clinical aspects of the practice, making appointments and dealing with monetary issues, as well as being the first point of contact for any clinical issues.

Staff Training

All staff members receive comprehensive training in all relevant aspects of dentistry and dental administration, and regularly attend training courses to ensure we continue to offer the most up-to-date and best care available to all our patients.
